At the age of 14, while studying art in secondary school, my interest in art was born. But it was not until I began my studies as a photographer that I turned my passion for art into a career. My name is Najib Madrid Flores and I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1954.
My passion for photography originates from my fascination with cinematography. The allure of capturing still images, rather than sequential motion, inspired me to explore and deepen my technical and artistic understanding of photography itself. From that point, my journey into the art progressed effortlessly.
My creative process unfolds on a flat, two-dimensional plane defined by length and width. Departing from traditional methods, I begin by using a computer to craft my designs digitally. I employ geometric shapes to recreate images from everyday life or my imagination. Once completed, I transfer these digital creations onto a tangible medium, such as fine art paper. I think that my work could be categorized as Figurative Art, though it may also encompass different artistic concepts.
As with any artistic journey, there will always be variables—some welcome, others unforeseen. What truly matters is the ability to create freely, without limitations or conceptual constraints. Throughout the creative process, inevitable variations emerge, shaping and ultimately defining the final outcome.

My favourite pieces is Maskerade
The artist has created a highly recognizable and consistent style. The clean lines, flat color planes, and geometric composition suggest influences from Cubism (e.g., Picasso, Gris) and early Modernist poster design, but the artist manages to make it feel current and personal.
The face is abstracted to the point of ambiguity, yet the essence of expression and elegance remains. This tension between abstraction and emotion is powerful.I think that your visual language is already strong — the clean geometry, color blocking, and stylized figures are impactful. What will elevate your portfolio further is intentional cohesion across works, anchored by a clear conceptual thread or emotional story. This doesn’t mean over-explaining — rather, think of your series like visual poetry: each piece standalone, but more powerful together.
Congrats!
